SearchGPT: If you need information about anything through the Internet, then which platform do you use to find it? Most people would use platforms like Google or Microsoft to search about anything through the Internet, but now people have a new option. The name of this new option is SearchGPT. Let us tell you about it.
OpenAI search engine
Actually, OpenAI has added a new search feature to its chatbot ChatGPT, which has been named “SearchGPT”. This SearchGPT is the search engine of OpenAI, which can compete with other big search engines like Google and Microsoft. OpenAI has included this new feature in its chatbot itself. This feature provides ChatGPT users with live information from the internet, including news, sports live updates, weather updates and stock prices.
Additionally, ChatGPT can now show the source of a question when answering it, giving users a greater sense of credibility. OpenAI aims to provide faster and easier search alternatives than search engines from companies like Google and Microsoft, and will be made available to all users in the coming months.
Google and Microsoft worried
After the launch of this search feature, a decline was seen in the stocks of Alphabet (parent company of Google) and Microsoft. Alphabet’s stocks fell by about 2% and Microsoft’s stocks fell by 6%. Investors are worried that this new search feature could challenge existing services like Google and Bing. Notably, Microsoft has invested approximately $14 billion in OpenAI, and this new feature may impact Microsoft’s AI services and Bing.
OpenAI also said that its search model is based on a special version of GPT-4, which also includes links to content such as news and blog posts. This feature is currently available for ChatGPT Plus and Team users, and will be rolled out to free users in the coming months. After this launch, ChatGPT’s search interface has become more similar to other AI-powered search engines like Perplexity, and it offers a cleaner experience than Google due to the lack of ads.
